PROVIDING A FRAMEWORK
FOR A BETTER WORLD.

There is no doubt that what we have done to our climate presents humanity with the greatest collective and existential challenge of our age. The way we discuss this as humans however – which too often creates a sense of catastrophe or fatalism – forces us to respond in any one of three ways: fight, flight or freeze. Such reactions block solutions, when in reality, the fastest way to get people to change their minds is through action. We simply don’t have time for anything else.

Our overarching aim is to play our part in inspiring the world to look at the enormous challenge we face on climate in a rational, but optimistic and positive way.  One based upon innovation, opportunity and renewal.

By bringing some organisation to this enormous, often overwhelming, subject, we want to help enable much faster, more concerted action through the creation of a global network, where genuinely local solutions can be delivered and accelerated around the world through the power of sharing and working together – where radical change and humanity work hand in hand.

WHO ARE
RENEW THE WORLD?

We are a start-up run by entrepreneurs with significant experience of business, people, technology, the arts, communications, politics and climate policy. We’re hugely committed to focussing hearts and minds on the accelerating reality of our climate, to bring new and experienced and simply curious voices and perspectives together to inspire positive, transformational change and action; and ensure that we are all involved on the world’s rapid journey to net zero.

WHY WE EXIST

With the conversation on climate change either catastrophised, stalled or minimised, we’re seeking to break through this unconstructive log jam by opening opportunities for positive dialogue, focusing on the actions, existing technological advancements and future innovations needed to get the results the world needs.

At the heart of our endeavours must be the voices, imaginations and energy of all people – from the very youngest to the oldest, and from all walks of life. Climate change concern cannot simply be the preserve of any one section of society. Whilst our young people are the largest stakeholders of our future – and they deserve to be heard on the greatest challenge of our age – it is up to those of us with more experience of the world to help create the conditions for a successful future; one in which we can all survive and thrive.

GENERATION
NET-ZERO.

The truth is we are all generation net-zero. Whatever age you are, we must face this challenge together if humanity is to succeed into the future. This is a problem for us all.

The youngest among us, however, face unprecedented challenges and difficulties if we can’t shift the dial on radical action on climate change. The statistics and the scientific predictions are clear – most young people are extremely worried about failure to act on global warming and carbon emissions.

In order to restore trust and hope, to move beyond sloganeering and promises of a carbon free future made by leaders who will not be accountable in the years 2050 and beyond, we want to give these young people the chance to write a very different story for their future, and their children and beyond.

Renew the World will create a purpose-driven platform which we hope can help connect everyone who wants to be involved; and in turn help to create our net-zero reality. For the youngest members of society – through inclusion and engagement – we aspire for this to be just the start of their lifelong participation in meaningful innovation, collaboration and climate renewal.

THE CHANGE MAKERS.

Young people, those with some experience and those with a lot of experience around the world are already acting and innovating on the climate crisis as positive agents for change. They realise that this change needs to happen now and are ready to use existing technologies, think creatively, inspire others and reach for future opportunities using their experience, energy and concern for our planet. We want to connect these people and inspire more like-minded actions across the world.

HELP BUILD THE
BIGGER PICTURE.

We describe ourselves as a global organisation; but inside-out. For us, it has to be local people, local organisations and local actions that come first, wherever you are in the world.

To do this, we plan to help build Renew The World Squads in every nation in the world. Within each Squad, there will be Teams who focus upon specific parts of society and the economy. Each Team will interact with each other, and with those around the world engaged in similar areas of interest. It is by creating this environment where ideas, inspiration, innovation and opportunity can be found that we believe we will help to create the conditions for renewal of our planet.

For businesses and larger organisations, there will be a small membership fee; for community projects and individuals access will be free or with an optional, small fee.

If you’re interested in being part of our international network, please get in touch using the form below. Tell us where you are, and what areas of interest you have. We will be back in touch as we build our solution.

LAUNCHING
RENEW THE WORLD.

Our first ever launch events come under the auspices of Renew The World, Scotland Squad, Education Team. These first events are taking place on November 5th, 2021 at the New York Times Climate Hub as part of COP26 in Glasgow. We’re taking new young voices beyond the formalities of this pivotal summit, to come together with global thinkers, scientists, academics and journalists to spark debate, open minds and stimulate resolve in addressing climate change and delivering solutions.

In this positive and creative environment, these young change makers will be given the chance to discuss their concerns as part of an ambitious programme of events by this world-famous newspaper and The Scottish Government. Our two themes centre around Scottish and Arctic Youth Collaboration on Climate Change and Solutions to the Global Impact of Climate Change on Women and Girls.

We’re aiming for some exciting and innovative solutions and action plans as a result of creating space to bring these intergenerational thinkers together. We’re aiming for positive, focused outcomes; measurable milestones; and continued engagement.

Most of all, we hope these young change makers will take their message to as many audiences as possible and do what they can to help inspire and engage other young people across the world.
